It is known in Thailand as "Sak Yant", (Sak= to Tattoo the skin, Yant= Yantra a kind of geometrical design, believed to posess Magic powers of Protection. Since the Hollywood actress Anjelina Jolie recieved a Sacred Yant tattoo from the brahmin Yantmaster Aajaarn Hnuu, in Bangkok, this phenomenon has grown to be increasingly popular in the Western world.
